3 Methods to enable/disable usb port in Windows. [updated]




Method 1: Editing Registry


Step0 ‬Goto run.
Step1 ‪‬Type 'regedit' without quotes.
Step2‪‬ Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Step3‪‬ goto SYSTEM.
Step4‪‬ Click on CurrentControlSet.
Step5‪‬ Click on services
Step6‪‬ Goto USBSTOR
Step7‪‬ Double click on 'Start' where value is 3.  


Step8 ‪‬Now change the value data with 4.
‪Step9‪‬ Now press ok and refresh your desktop your USB port is disabled.

 To enable it again, do this:‪‬ To enable the usb port replace the value 4 with 3.

Method 2: Using Device Manager

Go to start and search for "Device Manager".
 Click on 'Universal Serial Bus controllers and enable or disable by right-clicking on them.

Method 3: Using USB block/unblock app.
