A new wireless connectivity technology "Li-Fi" has beendeveloped which transmits data 100 times faster than today's Wi-Fi.
This technology has been proved for sending data at a speed of 1 Gigabit per second.

The transmission is done by using Visible Light Communication, in which data is sent between network by flicking LED very very fast.

Actually this technology uses LED bulb switching on and off billions of times a second to transmit the data strings.

As this is done by the help of visible lights, you can see the lights which are being emitted, but you can't notice the flickering of light as it is too fast for human eyes to notice.
Meanwise for you it looks just like on ordinary LED bulb which is connecting you to the internet with high speed.

There are pros as well as cons of this technology.
Like, this uses visible light- it can't cross walls like WiFi but it makes it much secure.
The speed is also much fast in which one can download HD movies and games within seconds.

See how this works:

This technology is still in womb but it will be a faster connectivity for future.
Airtel.

Airtel`s mobile data plan for both 2G and 3G will cost more on online transactions for pre-paid customers.. This move will bring the online transactions equal to the offline retailers by removing the discounts they were offering online.

An Airtel spoke-person told PTI, that there is a minor change in a few of our online plans which owning to the discontinuation of discounts on the online transactions.

Company has made changes to 10 data plans.

In 2G, one can get 2GB data at the price of 199 with 30 days validity, now it will 1.25GB with 28 days validity at the same price.

In 3G, 1GB was at 249 with 30 days validity but it has changed to Rs. 255 with 28 days validity.

Idea also increased data rates by up-to 100 percent for pre-paid in NCR region. Idea is also the first telecom company to raise prices after Rs 1.1 Lakh Crore spectrum in March.

To increase profitability, telecos have been cutting down on freebies and discounts. Last year also, Airtel, Idea and Vodafone had increased data as well as call tariffs.

Not everyone knows what the symbols "E, H, H+, 3G,  G" exact means.
These appears along with the phone network in statusbar.
Many would have thought why they keep changing.

These are network band by which your device is connected and thence effects your connectivity speed.

The speeds mentioned in the table above is theoretical and in bit not Byte.
* 8bit = 1 Byte
